This post is written for Five Minute Friday. The word for today is Question.
Tomorrow is our two-year-old granddaughter’s birthday party. I’m anticipating the question her four-year-old sister will ask as soon as we arrive. “Is that a gift…can I help open it?” I love her enthusiasm and I’m ready with an answer. “It’s a gift for your little sister, but here is a gift for you too!” (Yes, I love to spoil my granddaughters when I can.)
The Scripture in Matthew 18:3 encourages us to become like a little child. Like my granddaughter, it is important to ask God a question, “Is that a gift for me?” Matthew 7:7 reminds us to, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
A gift is only worth something if it is unwrapped and used. That thought crossed my mind as I wrapped each gift and put them in our youngest granddaughter’s gift bag. As I wrapped the gifts, God reminded me that we have spiritual gifts. It is possible that God has given you more than one spiritual gift. Have you unwrapped them yet? Go ahead…God can’t wait for you to open them.
Love it! Thanks for sharing! #FMF#41
