This post is written for Five Minute Friday. The word for today is “Success.”
“What if I don’t succeed? What if I don’t get enough likes or people don’t share my blog post?” My friend was concerned that she had spent a great deal of time and effort on her post and wondered if it was going to be successful. Then I told her about my friend Nettie who started a Facebook page called, “Moments with Nettie.”
I proceeded to tell her that Nettie has a message and it doesn’t matter whether two people or two thousand people watch her videos. What is most important to Nettie is whether she is making a difference in people’s lives. What matters most, when it comes to “success,” is whether she is sharing God’s love. I told her about Nettie’s video on the topic of gentleness and shared how her words changed my attitude with just one video.
We talked a bit more about how the world measures success and God’s measure of success. Finally, she realized that success is not about how many “likes” her blog post gets. What is most important is sharing God’s Love. I encouraged her to watch Nettie’s video and keep writing.
Don’t give up because man’s definition of success isn’t evident. Keep going because God is smiling and the angels are cheering you on. Your words matter. The message of God’s love matters. When you share God’s Love THAT is the true measure of success.
Five Minutes are up.
