I haven’t been writing much. That’s a clue that I’m over-thinking. Like many of you, I’m struggling to wrap my head around this Pandemic. COVID-19 has struck close to home. A long-time friend battles for life as her health-weakened body fights off this horrific disease. I’ve been quiet and praying so writing has not been a priority.
God whispers wisdom while I’m puttering in my back-yard. One morning the sunshine was extra bright and glowed on my Star Jasmine. I heard, “Seek the Light.” I needed light in the overwhelming despair of this world Pandemic and my friend’s battle for life. Holy Spirit shifted my focus to God’s assurance, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
God’s promise in Joshua 1:5 says, “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” God told me that my focus was on the dark. He wanted me to seek the light.
Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praise-worthy—think about such things.”
My prayer and reminder for you today, dear readers, is the light of God is brighter than this present darkness. If you are overwhelmed, seek our Lord Jesus—because He is the light of the world and has already conquered the darkness. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
